My year on SFWA's
1999 Nebula Short Fiction Jury is over. I enjoyed my time on the jury, and
would like to thank my fellow members: Rick Wilber for his exquisite taste in
reading materials and his wise input; Charles de Lint for his access to the
most baffling markets and for his kindness; Catherine Asaro for her debating
skills and sweetness; Ken St. Andre for reading more than anyone else, and Hugh
Leddy for multiple contributions, especially his advice and cheerfulness. A
six-member jury is a very large one, and everyone worked together when it was
time to make The Important Decisions. I'd also like to thank the SFWA NAR
Editor, Brook West, who I suspect had a hand in selecting me for this
particular honor. You're all my friends forever.
